There are close to two hundred resorts across Sam, and most of them line the main road, competing to be heard. VINN Jadam by Vesta chose to be still instead.
We sit in Kanoi, the quieter inner arc of Sam. It’s close enough to reach with ease, and far enough that after dark you hear the wind, birdsong and very little else. Eighteen tents are spread across a large property, with a real swimming pool at its heart.
Most of our guests stay one night, often the last stop on a longer Rajasthan journey. Everything here is built to make that night the one they remember.
Who we’re made for
Families on the Rajasthan circuit who want the dunes without the din. Couples and honeymooners who came for the stars and each other’s company. Independent travellers who would rather find the quiet camp than the loud one.
Your evening here
Arrive in the afternoon, and the pool is waiting. As the light turns amber, a camel safari takes you out across the dunes. Back at camp there’s folk music around the bonfire, a fresh vegetarian dinner in the lantern-lit tent, and a sky with very little in it but stars. In the morning there’s birdsong, breakfast, and the road onward.
What you won’t find
There’s no television, no phone in the tent and no DJ next door. We serve a fixed menu rather than a long one, and we’re an hour’s drive from Jaisalmer city. For most of our guests that is exactly the point, but we would rather you knew before you arrive.
